NEW YORK, NY - New York Giants Wide Receiver Michael Jennings spent time celebrating the accomplishments of some young football players this past week in East Hanover. Jennings was on hand to sign autographs, take pictures, answer questions, and share stories with the kids and their parents at the East Hanover Jr. Football Banquet. He talked about how youth football provided some of his fondest memories of playing. The story of Michael Jennings is quite unique when compared to his peers in the NFL. Jennings attended Florida State University on a track scholarship which prevented him from playing football while in school (You can however run track while on a football scholarship). The football coaching staff allowed him to participate at the FSU Pro Day and Jennings did not disappoint the scouts on hand as he ran a blazing 40 yard dash in 4.3 seconds! Jennings also talked about the importance of getting your education and using football as a tool for success in the rest of your life. Hes already working on his post career while still playing in the NFL. The Giants return man started Phat Boi Slim Customs an automotive customization specialty shop based in Jacksonville, Florida. Jennings (Slim) and his partner, life long best friend Gary (Phat Boi), have already handled orders from Giants teammates including Sam Madison, Plaxico Burress, and Michael Strahan. We wish Michael Jennings all the best as he recovers from a ruptured achilles tendon and we appreciate the positive messages that he shared about football on and off of the field.
